Charlene de Lory
Charlene deLory painted this month’s cover art. She lives in East Honolulu where the beauty and healing energies inspire her paintings. She is uniquely skilled in portrait art and architectural perspective drawing. She paints with the power of emotion and can capture the human spirit of her subjects and the natural beauty of landscapes. She concentrates on the essence of each subject and captures the features that makes them unique and exceptional.
Charlene has developed a process to paint individual as well as group portraits where everyone likes the way they appear and eliminates the need for time-consuming posing or getting together for a group photo. Her method, called SMART Portraits, stands for Social Media ART Portraits.
Charlene takes each person’s favorite pictures, including those from Facebook or Instagram, and paints a group portrait that combines them with their friends’ or family members’ favorite pictures. This forms the basis for a painting that looks like it came straight from a group shot. The background can be nostalgic, fantasy or reflect a special occasion. She uses her unique qualifications and skills together with multiple photos to create professional portraits, without any sitting or posing time.
The process has three simple steps. First, the participants choose the portrait size (the number of people will help determine canvas size) and they email a few pictures of each person (different angles) to Charlene. Second, she selects the pictures desired and makes a sketch of the group, or if just painting an individual, sketches the person. Third, she paints the portrait. Charlene has multiple approval steps along the way to ensure customer satisfaction. The final portrait can be picked up on Oahu or shipped anywhere in the world.Edit ModuleShow Tags
